Primary 2’s Woodland Adventure at The Green
Primary 2 had a brilliant time exploring The Green this week, learning all about the wonders of nature right on our doorstep!
Tree Talk
We discovered the difference between deciduous and coniferous trees—looking closely at their leaves, needles, and how they change through the seasons.
Wildlife Wonders
Jenny and Mark shared fascinating facts about local animals including badgers, squirrels, foxes, pine martens, solitary bees, and even a crane! The children were captivated by the stories and loved spotting signs of wildlife.
Insect Investigators
Ladybugs were a big hit! The children enjoyed searching for insects and observing them up close, learning about their habitats.
Habitat Explorers
Jenny and Mark pointed out different animal homes and explained how some creatures are nocturnal and others hibernate. Primary 2 were full of questions and loved exploring the forest floor for nuts and shells left behind by squirrels.
Den Builders
Using cuddly animal toys and natural materials, the children worked in teams to build cosy dens—showing great teamwork and creativity!
Fun & Freedom
We finished the day with some well-earned fun: running around, enjoying a snack, and throwing leaves in the autumn sunshine.
It was a day full of learning, laughter, and outdoor adventure.
