Primary 6 had a fantastic learning experience during their recent visit to our local beach as part of their topic on Seas and Oceans. The class spent the day exploring the coastline, investigating natural materials, and discovering more about the marine environment right on our doorstep.
Working in teams, the pupils collected driftwood, seaweed, shells, pebbles and other safe beach materials. Using their creativity and problem solving skills, they designed and built impressive shark models inspired by their learning in class. This hands on activity encouraged teamwork and helped the children think about the features and habitats of ocean animals in a fun and memorable way.
The trip gave Primary 6 a brilliant opportunity to connect their classroom learning with real world experiences, deepening their understanding of the importance of our seas and how we can protect them. The class returned to school energised and excited to continue their topic.
